Quarter-Finals Round 1: Tochigi B. - Hitachi SRT 92-84

Tochigi Brex overcame Hitachi SRT to record opening win in the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hitachi Sunrockers won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tochigi B. made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Hitachi Sunrockers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. It was a very good performance for swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Five Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
