Regular Season Round 5: Atlas - Hoops 64-67

Very significant was Hoops' (#4) just 3-point road victory against 3rd placed Atlas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Naturalized French guard Gabriel Salibi (203, college: Northeastern St., agency: BIG) nailed 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Nady Hachem (195-99, agency: BIG) accounted for 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Joseph Zaloum (180-90) came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Marc Abi Kheres (197-94) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Atlas in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hoops (3-1) keep a position of league leader, which they share with Beirut Club. Atlas at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Champville and Byblos. Hoops' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Al Riyadi.
