Regular Season Round 19: Al Ittihad - Al Wehda 74-91

Leader Al Wehda delivered the fourteenth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Al Ittihad (7-11) 91-74 in Jeddah. Al Wehda dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ittihad's 26. They outrebounded Al Ittihad 43-22 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Wehda players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Al Ittihad's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Mohammed AlMarwani (206-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. American-Bahrain Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Al Wehda players scored in double figures. The former international Mathna Almarwani (186-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Yasir Aljohani added 14 points and 4 steals in the effort for Al Ittihad. Al Wehda (14-4) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place, which they share with Al Fateh. Al Ittihad at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost.
