Regular Season Round 52: Kawasaki BT - Sunrockers Sh. 80-52

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Brave Thunders (27-24) crushed 3rd ranked SunRockers (28-23) in Kanagawa 80-52 on Wednesday. Kawasaki had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Thomas Wimbush (201-1993, college: Fairmont St., agency: Slash Sports) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (207-1985, college: Nevada) supported him with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Brave Thunders players scored in double figures. Brave Thunders' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Sunrockers Sh.. International forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) added 14 points for lost side. Kawasaki maintains fifth position with 27-24 record, which they share with Saga B. Loser SunRockers keeps the third place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Gunma CT. Kawasaki will meet Shinshu (#7) in the next round. Sunrockers Sh. will play against the league's second-placed Sea Horses M. (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
