There was a surprise result in Gifu where twelfth rankedSwoops (21-32) beat higher ranked Gambarous (32-20) 93-83 on Sunday. Gifu outrebounded Tokushima Gam. 49-32 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gifu looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Tokushima Gam. 's players. American center Baylee Steele (213-1997, college: Duquesne, agency: One Motive Sports) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Swoops players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Syutaro Takamatsu (185-1998) with 18 points and guard Kenta Naito (185-1995) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gifu maintains twelfth position with 21-32 record. Loser Gambarous keeps the fifth place with 20 games lost.
