B2 League top team -Chiba (50-4) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Firebonds (21-33) 91-74 . Chiba outrebounded Fukushima 40-25 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chiba made 7 blocks. American forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Chinese center Chuanxing Liu (222-1997) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (208-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Daiki Tsuchiya (173-2000) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first place with 50-4 record. Loser Firebonds keeps the fifth position with 33 games lost.
