Very expected game in Tokyo where 10th rankedHachioji Trains (20-23) were defeated by fifth ranked Gambarous (29-15) 84-77 on Friday. Strangely Tokyo outrebounded Tokushima Gam. 42-29 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tokushima Gam. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Tavrion Dawson (202-1996, college: CSUN, agency: One Motive Sports) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Yutaka Tsukamoto (177-1997) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Spanish center David Doblas (208-1981) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Nigerian power forward Martins Igbanu (203-1997, college: Tulsa) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Tokushima Gam. and four Tokyo players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Gambarous have an impressive five-game winning streak. Tokushima Gam. moved-up to fourth place. Loser Hachioji Trains keeps the tenth position with 23 games lost.
