Regular Season Round 14: Homentmen - Al Riyadi 81-108

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut:Al Riyadi (#1) and Homentmen (#5). Homentmen was smashed at home by 27 points 81-108 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Homentmen. Al Riyadi made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Manny Harris (197-1989, college: Michigan, agency: Slash Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. International guard Wael Arakji (193-1994) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Al Riyadi's coach Ahmad Farran felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Jad Khalil (186-1996) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-1990, college: Morgan St.) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Homentmen. Four Homentmen players scored in double figures. Al Riyadi (13-2) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Homentmen at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost.
