The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mongolia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mongolia defeated 8th ranked Magic Deer in Hohhot 92-80. Inner M. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Magic Deer's 30. The best player for the winners was Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-1994, college: GWU) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Mengran Sun (196-1992) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Azura Stevens (198-1996, college: UConn) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and center Lingge Zhang (187-1999) added 19 points respectively. Four Inner M. and five Xinjiang players scored in double figures. Mongolia (31-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sichuan. Xinjiang at the other side keeps the eighth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Shandong. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
