Rather predictable result when fifth rankedFirebonds (14-21) won against 7th ranked Niigata A. (5-30) in Fukushima 88-83 on Wednesday. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Lithuanian forward Rapolas Ivanauskas (208-1998, college: Cincinnati) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (208-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 18 points and 4 assists by point guard Katsumi Takahashi (180-2000) did not help to save the game for Niigata A. . American power forward Tony Criswell (205-1991, college: Missouri) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Fukushima and four Niigata A. players scored in double figures. Niigata A.'s coach Casey Owens rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fukushima maintains fifth position with 14-21 record, which they share with Bambitious. Niigata A. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 30 games lost.
