Regular Season Round 23: Aomori W. - Shizuoka 93-81

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aomori. Fourth ranked Watts faced their close opponent Shizuoka. Host Watts (18-16) defeated guests from Shizuoka (15-19) 93-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shizuoka. Aomori W. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Shizuoka's 32. Aomori W. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Czech Patrik Auda (206-1989, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Yuichi Ikeda (183-1997) helped adding 20 points and 8 assists. American forward John Harrar (205-1999, college: Penn St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Aomori W. and four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aomori W. moved-up to third place, which they share with Yamagata. Newly promoted Shizuoka keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Nishinomiya S.. Aomori W. will meet at home league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shizuoka will play against the league's leader Chiba and hope to secure a win.
