Sixth-rankedBambitious (14-20) made lots of trouble for first ranked Chiba (31-3) in Nara. The visitors from Chiba managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76 . However their fans expected much easier game. Bambitious were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Kei Sugimoto (184-1992) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 assists. American center Dererk Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-1987, college: Cincinnati) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kohei Kasai (176-1993) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Bambitious. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chiba have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first place with 31-3 record. Bambitious lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 20 games lost.
