Regular Season Round 11: Al Riyadi - Hoops 90-37

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut:Al Riyadi (#2) and Hoops (#6). Al Riyadi (11-1) crushed visiting Hoops (5-8) by 53 points 90-37 . Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Hoops ' 20 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Al Riyadi forced 25 Hoops turnovers and outrebounded them 47-22 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international point guard Rebecca Akl (170-1992) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Reem El Ghali contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Maryam Jomaa answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Yasmine Lahoud added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hoops. Hoops' coach Ziad Al Natour gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al Riyadi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-1 record having just three points less than leader Club Beirut. Hoops lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost.
