Regular Season Round 17: Kumamoto V. - Fukushima 89-74

No shocking result in a game in Kumamoto where third ranked Volters (18-10) won against 5th ranked Firebonds (9-19) 89-74 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Aaron White (206-1992, college: Iowa) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Jamel McLean (203-1988, college: Xavier) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Volters' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Ryo Tawatari (180-1993, college: Dominican, CA) produced 12 points and 6 assists and American forward Terrance King (198-1990, college: ESU, agency: Diamond Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 18-10 record having just three points less than leader Chiba. Fukushima at the other side keeps the fifth position with 19 games lost. Kumamoto V. will meet at home Bambitious (#6) in the next round. Fukushima will play against the league's leader Chiba and hope to secure a win.
