The game in Hitachinaka was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Toyota BSR (10-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (6-9). Toyota BSR defeated Hitachi Cougars 75-59 on Sunday. Toyota BSR dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars' 24. Toyota BSR forced 19 Hitachi Cougars turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toyota BSR made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Yuki Kato (179-1997) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Miyuki Kawamura (185-1994) who added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side forward Ririka Okuyama (180-2000) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Mayu Kubota (168-2000) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota BSR maintains sixth position with 10-6 record. Loser Hitachi Cougars dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW. Toyota BSR will meet at home Aishin AW (#7) in the next round. Hitachi Cougars will play against Haneda V. and hope to secure a win.
