Regular Season Round 8: NLEX RW - Blackwater 104-97

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Blackwater's (1-8) road loss to tenth ranked NLEX RW (3-6) in Makati City 97-104 on Friday. NLEX RW looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by guard Robert Bolick (185-1995) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points, 8 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American power forward Stokley Chaffee (204-1996, college: Tennessee St.) supported him with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 27 points and 7 assists by American-Puerto Rican Chris Ortiz (203-1993, college: Kent St.) did not help to save the game for Blackwater. Guard Regile Ilagan (180-1997) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Five NLEX RW and four Blackwater players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. NLEX RW moved-up to ninth place. Blackwater lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with FiberXers. NLEX RW will meet at home bottom-ranked FiberXers (#12) in the next round. Blackwater will play against North Port and hope to win that game.
