Rather predictable result when sixth rankedOhod (5-4) won against 9th ranked Al Safa (3-6) in Safwa 98-90 on Friday. Ohod looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Jonathon Simmons (198-1989, college: Houston) nailed 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and South Sudanese-Australian forward Deng Deng (203-1992, college: Baylor) accounted for 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Dallas Morgan (185, college: CMU) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Dikembe Dixson (201-1996, college: UIC) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Al Safa in the defeat. Four Al Safa players scored in double figures. Al Safa's coach Vanja Gusa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ohod . They maintain sixth place with 5-4 record. Newly promoted Al Safa dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Al Khaleej.
