Regular Season Round 21: Nagasaki - Alvark Tokyo 84-94

Rather expected game when 4th placed Nagasaki (12-9) lost at home to first ranked Alvark Tokyo (18-3) 94-84 on Sunday. Alvark Tokyo shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) nailed 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Kai Toews (188-1998, college: UNCW) accounted for 25 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. American power forward Nick Perkins (203-1996, college: Buffalo) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import Jarrell Brantley (201-1996, college: Charleston, agency: BIG) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Nagasaki in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark Tokyo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record, which they share with San-en NP. Newly promoted Nagasaki dropped to the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Chiba Jets. Alvark Tokyo will meet at home Hokkaido L. (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nagasaki will play against the league's leader Ryukyu (#1) in Okinawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
