A very close game took place in Tokyo betweenShinagawa and United . Sixteenth ranked Shinagawa (6-16) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked United (15-7). Shinagawa managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of United. Shinagawa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Ito Ryota (177-1992) nailed 19 points and 9 assists for the winning side and guard Ikumi Takahashi (186-1998) accounted for 19 points and 6 assists. Four Shinagawa players scored in double figures. American swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Marcus Dove (206-1985, college: OK State) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Utd in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shinagawa moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Shanan Utd. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd keeps the fifth position with seven games lost.
