Very expected game when 16th rankedVeertien Mie (5-13) was smashed by third ranked Kagoshima (14-4) in Yokkaichi 96-71 on Sunday. American players dominated the game. Swingman Anthony Gaines Jr. (195-1993, college: LCU) notched 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Even 13 points and 9 rebounds by forward Josh Martin (201-1995, college: Santa Clara) did not help to save the game for Veertien Mie . Power forward Damonte Dodd (211-1994, college: Maryland) added 11 points. Four Kagoshima and five Veertien Mie players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kagoshima have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kagawa FA. Veertien Mie lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Okayama.
