Rather predictable result when second rankedShiga L-Stars (13-6) won against at home 4th placed Yamagata (8-11) 88-74 on Sunday. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Yamagata 's 32. They outrebounded Yamagata 49-29 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) nailed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Justin Burrell (204-1988, college: St.John's) accounted for 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Michael Finke (208-1996, college: GCU, agency: Players Group) came up with 26 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the other American import TJ Holyfield (203-1995, college: Texas Tech) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Yamagata in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars . They maintain second place with 13-6 record having just two points less than leader Chiba. Yamagata lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost.
