The most exciting game of round 8 in the B2 League took place in Shizuoka. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengersNishinomiya S. (9-8) to fifth ranked Shizuoka (10-7) 78-77 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) chipped in 16 points. American forward Trey Porter (210-1996, college: Nevada) produced 22 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import center Nigel Spikes (208-1989, college: Marshall) added 11 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shizuoka moved-up to third place, which they share with Kumamoto V. and Aomori W. Nishinomiya S. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost.
