There was a small surprise when eighth rankedKyoto H. (2-11) won against at home 6th ranked Shinshu BW (4-9) 74-62 on Saturday. Kyoto H. dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW 's 20. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 47-33 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Kevin Jones (203-1989, college: WVU) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) accounted for 13 points and 18 rebounds. Kyoto H.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center David Simon (208-1982, college: PFW) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American guard Louis Kurihara (188-1996, college: Whittier) added 13 points and 4 steals respectively for Shinshu BW in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kyoto H. maintains eighth place with 2-11 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the sixth position with nine games lost.
