Regular Season Round 5: Fukushima - Niigata A. 94-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Fukushima's (4-7) home victory over 6th ranked Niigata A. (1-10) 94-81 on Saturday. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (208-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Shota Kanno (190-1992) chipped in 18 points. Fukushima's coach Eric Weissling used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-1989, college: USAO, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Nigerian power forward Martins Igbanu (203-1997, college: Tulsa) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Fukushima and five Niigata A. players scored in double figures. Fukushima maintains fifth place with 4-7 record. Niigata A. at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Iwate and Bambitious N.. Fukushima will meet Ehime OV (#6) in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
