There was a minor upset when their close opponent Nagoya DD (7-5) lost on the road to fifth ranked Gunma CT (5-5) 76-67 on Saturday. Gunma CT forced 19 Nagoya DD turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gunma CT made 8 blocks. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (200, college: Evergreen St.) notched 12 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) supported him with 14 points. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by Brazilian-American center Tim Soares (211-1997, college: Master's) did not help to save the game for Nagoya DD. American forward Robert Franks (201-1996, college: WSU) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma CT have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Sendai 89ers and Chiba Jets. Nagoya DD lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost.
