Regular Season Round 9: Shanan Utd - Yamaguchi 96-74
Date: November 3, 2023
Everything could happen in Kanagawa at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Shanan Utd and 16th ranked Yamaguchi had identical 2-6 record. This time Shanan Utd used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Yamaguchi96-74 on Friday night. Shanan Utd looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Zach Jackson (198-1997, college: Omaha) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Shanan Utd players scored in double figures. American forward Deandre Abram (203-1997, college: Milwaukee) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Desmond Jackson (185-1992, college: AAMU) added 22 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Yamaguchi. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shanan Utd have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Shinagawa. Yamaguchi at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Shanan Utd is again looking forward to face Yamaguchi (#16) at home in the next round. Yamaguchi will have a break next round.
