Very expected game in Bandar Abbass where Sanaye was defeated by Naft Abadan 89-77 on Monday. Naft Abadan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sanaye's 40. They outrebounded Sanaye 34-21 including 28 on the defensive glass. Mehdi Hasanzadeh had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-2000) chipped in 23 points during the contest. The former international power forward Sarem Jafari (207-2005, agency: BIG) responded with 16 points and the former international forward Eshagh Hatami (190-2000) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Naft Abadan will meet at home Averta in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sanaye will play against Raad in Mashhad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
