The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Denso I. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Denso I. defeated 5th ranked Toyota BSR in Kariya 74-65. 25 personal fouls committed by Toyota BSR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international center Maki Takada (185-1989) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Akaho Himawari (185-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Denso I. players scored in double figures.
