Rather expected game in Nagano where 7th ranked Shinshu BW (2-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (4-5) 81-65 on Sunday. Sendai 89ers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 26. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. American Nathan Boothe (208-1994, college: Toledo) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Ukrainian center Volodymyr Gerun (208-1994, college: Portland) chipped in 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American-Ivorian power forward Deon Thompson (204-1988, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and Filipino guard Rhon Jhay Abarrientos (181-1999) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sendai 89ers.
