Regular Season Round 9: Yokohama BC - Hiroshima D. 65-90

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Hiroshima D. (3-6) outscored on the road 5th ranked Yokohama BC (4-5) 90-65 on Sunday. Hiroshima D. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yokohama BC's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hiroshima D. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international guard Yuki Kawamura (172-2001) with 16 points and 5 assists and American forward Jarrod Uthoff (206-1993, college: Iowa) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hiroshima D. maintains seventh place with 3-6 record. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Hiroshima D. will meet at home Kyoto H. (#8) in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against Sendai 89ers (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
