Regular Season Round 5: Eneos S. - Hitachi Cougars 90-72

Not a big story in a game in Kashiwa where 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (1-4) were defeated by leader Eneos S. (5-0) 90-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 blocks (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Point guard Shizuka Takada (168-1996) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. Point guard Haruka Funao (170-1998) produced 9 points and 7 assists and power forward Yuki Nakano (181-1996) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Eneos S.. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyota A. and Denso I. Hitachi Cougars lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Aishin AW and Yamanashi QB. Eneos S. will again meet at home Hitachi Cougars (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hitachi Cougars will have a break next round.
