Regular Season Round 5: Niigata R. - Aishin AW 52-89

Aishin AW has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Tokyo, where they outplayed Niigata R. (0-5) 89-52. Aishin AW forced 25 Niigata R. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Point guard CaiDeng Sakai (164-1995) nailed 8 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side and Senegalese forward Sanbu Astu (180-1999) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Aishin AW players scored in double figures. Swingman Akari Honda (177-2000) came up with 10 points and forward Nishitarumizu Misakura (170-1998) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Niigata R. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin AW (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Hitachi Cougars and Yamanashi QB. It was Niigata R.'s fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Himeji E.. Aishin AW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again at home against Aishin AW (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
