Date: August 19, 2023
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Heat as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Heat smashed 3rd placed Warriors in Saigon 90-70. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Heat made 7 blocks. American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) fired a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. International guard Kim Ban Vo (185-2000) chipped in 22 points. Five Heat players scored in double figures. American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and power forward Anh Nguyen Tuan (186-2001) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Warriors at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. Warriors will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Heat will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Buffaloes in Hanoi.
