Regular Season Round 21: Buffaloes - Warriors 90-95
Date: August 8, 2023
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hanoi: Warriors (#3) and Buffaloes (#2). Buffaloes were defeated at home 90-95 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Buffaloes. Warriors looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Buffaloes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Sameen Swint (193-1995, college: GBC) chipped in 31 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Warriors' coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Nigerian forward Udun Osakue (198-1992, college: SF State, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American Anthony January (204-1993, college: CSUSB, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Buffaloes players scored in double figures. Warriors (9-5) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place behind leader Saigon Heat. Buffaloes at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. Warriors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Buffaloes will play at home against Catfish and are hoping to win this game.
