Regular Season Round 5: Wave - Tigers 86-108

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Wave (4-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Tigers (5-0) 108-86. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Wave. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Tigers forced 30 Wave turnovers. Strangely Wave outrebounded Tigers 53-39 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Wave's players. Guard Takamin Sirijariyaporn (181-1997) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 9 assists. Nattapat Biasumrit contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American center Raymond Miller (204-1988, college: CS Fullerton, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 24 rebounds and 4 assists and British center Morakinyo Williams (209-1988, college: Citadel) added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Wave. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Wave keeps the second position with one game lost. Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Wave will play against Eagles and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
