Regular Season Round 11: Saigon Heat - Buffaloes 83-92

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Heat (6-1) in Saigon on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Buffaloes (5-2) 92-83. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Heat. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Buffaloes forced 22 Heat turnovers and had a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American Anthony January (204-1993, college: CSUSB, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. American-Nigerian forward Udun Osakue (198-1992, college: SF State, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Buffaloes' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Four Heat players scored in double figures. Buffaloes moved-up to second place, which they share with Dolphins. Defending champion Heat still keeps top position with one game lost. Buffaloes is looking forward to face Wings (#6) in Ho Chi Minh in the next round. Heat will have a break next round.
