Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Jakarta: Pelita Jaya (#3) and WBS (#13). Pelita Jaya (25-3) smashed visiting WBS (8-20) by 33 points 89-56. Pelita Jaya dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to WBS's 28. Pelita Jaya forced 19 WBS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by WBS's players. The former international center Vincent Kosasih (203-1996) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Dominique Sutton (193-1986, college: NCCU) supported him with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Pelita Jaya players scored in double figures. Even 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists by point guard Christian Gunawan (175-1994) did not help to save the game for WBS. Guard Rio Disi (185-1992) added 14 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pelita Jaya moved-up to second place. WBS lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost.
