Regular Season Round 6: Catfish - Dragons 89-87

The most exciting game of round 6 in the VBA took place in Can Tho. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of bottom-ranked Dragons (0-4) to sixth ranked Catfish (1-2) 89-87 on Tuesday evening. The best player for the winners was Thailand point guard Morgan Jakongmee (185-1997) who scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Filipino point guard Michael Soy (182-1997, college: Algonquin) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Catfish players scored in double figures. Catfish's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jermaine Marrow (183-1997, college: Hampton) who recorded 23 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-1995, college: Jefferson) added 24 points and 12 rebounds respectively. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Catfish left bottom position moving up to fifth place. It was Dragons' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Catfish are looking forward to face higher ranked Warriors (#4) in Hanoi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dragons will have a break next round.
