There was an upset in Surabaya where higher ranked Dewa United (15-7) was outplayed by tenth ranked Bali Utd. (9-13) 98-67 on Monday. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jay Bowie (196-1992, college: Marist, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) who scored 25 points and 7 assists. The other American import forward Dior Lowhorn (201-1987, college: USF) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Bali Utd. players scored in double figures. The former international forward Kaleb Gemilang (184-1991) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American Anthony Johnson (203-1988, college: Fairfield) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Bali Utd. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Indonesia P. Loser Dewa United keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bima Perkasa. Bali Utd. will meet Tangerang (#11) in the next round. Dewa United will play against Pelita Jaya (#3) in Jakarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
