Regular Season Round 61: Niigata A. - Shinshu BW 72-94

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Niigata A. (13-47) was outplayed at home by third ranked Shinshu BW (28-30) 94-72 on Sunday. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) fired 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Ko Kumagai (173-1996) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and American forward Keve Aluma (206-1998, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Niigata A.'s coach Fujitaka Hiraoka gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Shinshu BW maintains third place with 28-30 record having fourteen points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Niigata A. keeps the eighth position with 47 games lost.
