Regular Season Round 58: Nagoya DD - Kyoto H. 80-64

Rather predictable result when third ranked Nagoya DD (40-16) defeated at home 7th ranked Kyoto H. (22-35) 80-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Kyoto H. 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Alan Williams (203-1993, college: UCSB) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-1992) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. Canadian-Filipino guard Matthew Wright (193-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) produced 15 points and 6 assists and Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Kyoto H.'s coach Roy Rana rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Nagoya DD maintains third position with 40-16 record having just one point less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Hiroshima D. Loser Kyoto H. dropped to the sixth place with 35 games lost. They share the position with FE Nagoya. Nagoya DD will again meet at home Kyoto H. (#7) in the next round. Kyoto H. will have a break next round.
