Second Stage Round 4: Homentmen - Liders 95-109

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Homentmen (1-4) against fourth ranked Liders (1-4) on Tuesday night. Host Homentmen was defeated by Liders in Beirut 109-95. They made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Liders had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Stanley Davis Jr (196-1998, college: Morgan St.) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and guard Youssef Ghantous (191-1996) who added 27 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Mark Lyons (185-1989, college: Arizona) responded with 40 points (!!!) (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Mohamad Kreidi scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Homentmen's coach tested twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liders left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with defeated Homentmen. Liders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Homentmen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Al Riyadi.
