There was an upset in Beirut where higher ranked Champville (0-5) was crushed by top-ranked Sagesse (5-0) 120-57 on Tuesday. Sagesse dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Champville's 36. Sagesse forced 21 Champville turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Champville's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sagesse made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Sergio El Darwich (193-1996, college: Maine) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Rudy Moussa who added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Andrew Kopaly (200-2002) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and forward Marc Abi-Kheres (197-1994) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Sagesse have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 5-0 record. Loser Champville still closes the standings with five games lost. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Beirut Club.
