Regular Season Round 58: Nagasaki - Ehime OV 92-52

An interesting game for Nagasaki (42-18) which hosted in Nagasaki 4th ranked Ehime OV (26-33). Second ranked Nagasaki had an easy win 92-52. Nagasaki dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Ehime OV's 30. Nagasaki forced 21 Ehime OV turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ehime OV's players. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Filipino-Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Nagasaki players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) did not help to save the game for Ehime OV. American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa, agency: Pensack Sports) added 6 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second position with 42-18 record having just three points less than leader Chiba. Loser Ehime OV keeps the fourth place with 33 games lost.
