Kuwait looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Point guard Hamad Hasan (191-1997) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass) accounted for 25 points and 8 rebounds. American Nick Minnerath (207-1988, college: Detroit) came up with 31 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Triche (193-1991, college: Syracuse) added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Shabab Al Ahli in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
