Everything went according to plan when third ranked Qatar Club (7-2) edged 8th ranked Al Ahli (2-7) in Doha 90-87 on Tuesday. Qatar Club made 30-of-36 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Al Ahli only scored eleven points from the stripe. Qatar Club looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. American guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) nailed 30 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side and Serbian Dejan Janjic (198-1995) accounted for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. International forward Ndoye Seydou (205-1999) came up with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-1987) added 22 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 9 steals respectively for Al Ahli in the defeat.
