Second Stage Round 3: Homentmen - Dynamo 77-97

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Dynamo (#1) and Homentmen (#3). Homentmen was crushed at home by 20 points 77-97 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Dynamo outrebounded Homentmen 48-30 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Homentmen's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Jad Khalil (186-1996) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American Marlon Johnson (208-1994, college: NMHU) accounted for 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Mark Lyons (185-1989, college: Arizona) came up with 18 points and the other American import Jamal McCoy (196-1993, college: Bluefield St.) added 16 points respectively for Homentmen in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dynamo will play against Liders (#4) in the next round. Homentmen will have a break next round.
