Regular Season Round 53: Toyama G. - Shinshu BW 65-95

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Toyama G. (11-41) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Shinshu BW (24-27) 95-65 on Saturday. Shinshu BW made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American Anthony McHenry (202-1983, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American center Joshua Smith (208-1992, college: Georgetown) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and the other American import forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Toyama G.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Shinshu BW have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 24-27 record. Loser Toyama G. keeps the seventh position with 41 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyama G. will play again against Shinshu BW (#4) and hope to secure a win.
