Regular Season Round 9: Al Wakrah - Al Sadd 85-117

Very predictable result when first ranked Al Sadd (6-2) rolled over on the road 7th ranked Al Wakrah (3-6) 117-85 on Tuesday. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Al Wakrah's 36. They outrebounded Al Wakrah 45-22 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Sadd looked well-organized offensively handing out 45 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by Al Wakrah's players. American-German forward Waverly Austin (211-1991, college: Oregon, agency: Diamond Sports) nailed a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds, 18 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and international forward Babacar Dieng (197-1997) accounted for 28 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Al Sadd players scored in double figures. American guard Donte McGill (190-1995, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) came up with 35 points (!!!) and 6 steals and the other American import guard John Crosby (190-1996, college: Delaware St.) added 14 points and 6 steals respectively for Al Wakrah in the defeat. Al Wakrah's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al Sadd have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Al Sadd went down to third position due to points difference. Al Wakrah lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost.
