Very significant was Cathay Life's (#1, 13-3) victory against 4th ranked Taipower (2-14) 86-55. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Taipower's 26. Cathay Life forced 21 Taipower turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by Xin-Yu Liu who scored that evening 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Yu-Chun Chen (176-1987) supported her with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 18 points by the former international forward Xi-Ye Liu (173-1991) did not help to save the game for Taipower. Point guard Yixuan Li (161-1990) added 13 points and 5 steals for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cathay Life have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-3 record. Taipower lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Cathay Life will play against Chunghwa Telecom (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taipower will play against the league's second-placed Taiyuan Textile and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
